Zhang Xiaohong

Beijing Dahlin Group, President

Tomorrow's China has great impact on global development and well-being. Establishing an architectural office in Beijing in 2002 was not necessarily trendy. But, today the collaboration of U.S. designers and Chinese project managers has set the standard for DAHLIN's international design teams. The lessons learned and the successes of the global practice expanded to Asia and the Pacific, can largely be credited to Zhang Xiaohong's natural leadership talents. As President of Beijing Dahlin Group and managing principal of four offices in China, Hong directs the professional development and advancement of the firm's China operations. Educated in China and the United States, Hong worked in DAHLIN's Northern California office for several years before returning to Beijing to lead the growth of its China offices, while seeking new challenges and strategic opportunities for the firm.

Hong works to create an atmosphere of trust, pride and mutual respect among the community of employees and clients in China and the United States. Her design goals are focused on crafting a better quality of life on both sides of the Pacific, bringing a human scale and design story to the process of master planning and architecture. She believes that people want to live where they can enjoy a safe, healthy, high quality environment for their family anywhere in the world.

As Hong looks forward to development trends in her native country, she is most interested in promoting the sustainability and affordability of future communities, leading the next generation of design to more innovative solutions.
