DAHLIN Group Architecture Planning (DAHLIN), a full-service architecture and planning firm, announces that designer Anna Felver has been installed as a member of the board of directors of the Building Industry Association (BIA)'s Bay Area chapter, a non-profit association dedicated to creating an adequate supply of quality homes for people of every income level.

Felver provides BIA strategic support of the organization's mission to push forward legislation, research and other initiatives that permit increased home development for all incomes throughout the local Bay Area region. Her position comes as part of her role as 2020 President of the Professional Women in Building Council (PWB), an affiliation under BIA and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Women's Council that encourages networking and empowerment of members as they progress in their careers and foster professionalism within the building industry. As a member of BIA's board, Felver is tasked with growing the PWB and encouraging continuous education and involvement in causes that back the dual organizations. BIA's 2020 board celebrates a hallmark occasion as the first year in its history where 50 percent of its members are women.

"We're delighted to see Anna carry on the firm's longstanding history and dedication to ensuring quality housing access for all and pushing homebuilding forward, especially within the Bay Area where the region faces steep challenges," said DAHLIN Principal Don Ruthroff. "Her devotion to the cause, technical expertise and business acumen have been valuable assets for DAHLIN and will be leveraged well on the BIA board. We're proud to continue our support of Anna and BIA in their forward-looking efforts and successes."

Felver has been a member of the DAHLIN team for more than nine years and is an advocate for awareness and inclusiveness within the building industry. As president of the PWB, she focuses on encouraging networking and empowerment for men and women to advance their professional careers and business knowledge while also promoting the home building industry through support of community organizations. Additionally, Felver works with the organization to provide opportunities to educate and motivate students within the building and design industry and offer annual scholarships to students who show significant effort in learning about the architecture and building practice.

DAHLIN has a deep-rooted history with BIA spanning more than 35 years. The firm's Affordable Housing sector has partnered with several like-minded organizations, such as People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) and Affirmed Housing on projects aimed at providing underserved and disadvantaged community members with quality sustainable homes and services.

"I'm honored to be among such an esteemed group of industry leaders devoted to addressing the critical need for housing from all directions," said Felver. "Under the leadership of Chairwoman Dana Tsubota, the depth and breadth of experience of the board, our partners and supporters will take BIA's advocacy to new levels and make positive impacts on the lives of individuals and families in our communities."
