Sixteen DAHLIN projects across 13 awards categories were recognized as Gold Nugget Merit winners at PCBC's 59th Annual Gold Nugget Awards. Three of those projects received the Grand Award in their respective categories, all demonstrating innovation and design excellence in housing from affordable to single-family and multifamily residential.
Awarded in the category of Innovative Housing Concepts, ModHive is an all electric, modular tiny home village prototype that also received a Grand award in the City of Salt Lake's Empowered Living Design competition. This master-planned tiny home community prototype is one answer to the City's housing needs for the homeless and is now a part of the City's "library of designs" for use by homeowners and city officials to expedite the building and permitting processes.
Honored as Best Single-family Detached Home between 1,800 and 2,499 square feet, Elmwood at ShadeTree offers a simple, modern single-story plan with an open flow of spaces offering indoor/outdoor living and a charming front elevation and porch.
Lastly, receiving the Grand in the category of Best Multifamily Housing Community between 15 and 30 dwelling units per acre, McGraw Square at Queen Anne is a revered enclave located in the very special historical Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle. Challenged by a steep sloping site with upslope, downslope and cross-slope conditions, this completely new 57-townhome community maximizes the premium views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountain range. It is carefully woven into the fabric of the historic neighborhood, while preserving existing on-site trees and renovating the existing school buildings shared by the site. The mixed classic and contemporary homes feel generous in their small footprint and thoughtful designs, creating impressive views and flooded with natural light to each home.
Congratulations to all clients and project teams for their collaborative spirit and project design excellence. Our shared commitment to Passion for Place® pushes the limits of innovative residential and community design.
