DAHLIN’s comprehensive modernization of Rowan Elementary School improved campus security, ease of navigation, and long-term maintenance while creating a more supportive environment for learning.
The completed design enhanced interior environmental quality and included upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as improved storage, teaching and learning tools, and appropriately sized educational spaces. Campus-wide improvements incorporated ADA path-of-travel upgrades, structural review and enhancements, fire alarm and communication system upgrades, security lighting and cameras, and card reader access.
The joint-use field improvements included grading and landscaping for a natural turf multiuse field, a stabilized decomposed granite walking path, backstops, drinking fountains, fencing, new parking, and a redesign of existing parking areas.
The modernization encompassed two classroom buildings, the Administration and Auditorium buildings, an expansion and renovation of the existing Administration building, and the addition of a new Administration support building. The project also replaced two kindergarten portable buildings and removed five existing portables.
