  • San Diego, California
  • San Diego Unified School District

A vision to provide a new identity to both the campus and its neighboring community.

DAHLIN’s vision for Paradise Hills Elementary is to provide a new identity to both the school campus and its neighboring community. In addition to the revitalization of the existing classroom buildings, it includes building a new 18,000-square-foot two-story classroom and administration building to address the growing needs of the campus; a joint-use field and public playgrounds to serve as a community gathering space in addition to serving the needs of the school; a pedestrian-oriented entrance into the new administrative wing from the main thoroughfare; and improved parking design to provide safe entry and drop-off points for students and parents.

The joint-use field work includes grading and landscaping for natural turf multiuse field, stabilized decomposed granite walking path, backstops, drinking fountains, and fencing. Redesign of existing parking area to include a two-way driveway, accessible pedestrian ramp, and student drop-off area.
