La Sabila is an 84-unit affordable senior housing community in Vista, California, serving residents earning 30–60% AMI. The project is organized around a west-facing central courtyard that anchors daily life and fosters a strong sense of community.
A shaded trellis, community gathering spaces, and social stair bridges create opportunities for interaction while supporting intuitive circulation throughout the site. Thoughtfully integrated bay-window elements add rhythm to the building façade and bring light and views into individual residences.
Set within a gently sloping, residential neighborhood, the design responds to its context through landscape integration and a clear, cohesive site strategy that prioritizes accessibility, comfort, and connection.
