Villa Blackhawk

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, the approximately 27,000-square-foot residence explores the relationship between architecture, landscape, and materiality at an expansive residential scale.

Inside and outside materials flow together as the living spaces are organized around a two-story atrium. The home embraces its site with two courtyard gardens, surrounded entirely by its main living areas. These gardens include cascading pools, koi ponds and waterfalls. A skylit breezeway features kitchen, barbecue and bar, and links the courtyard garden to a tennis court built atop the 7,000-square-foot semi-subterranean ballroom. Despite its expansive size, the design emphasizes intimacy and warmth.
